It has been submitted by the learned advocate for the applicants/petitioners that after filing this contempt application, petitioners were communicated with an order dated December 9, 2022 issued by the Registrar of University. By the said communication the petitioners were informed that their claim for promotional benefits has been turned down by the University.

Mr.

Abhrotosh Majumder, learned Senior Advocate appearing for the University submits that the report of the Grievance Committee shall be forwarded to the applicants/petitioners within a week from date. Learned advocate for the applicants/petitioners submits that a direction of this Court was that a report would be filed by the Grievance and Redressal Cell. The report, however, has been filed by the Grievance Committee.

Mr. Majumder clarifies that there is no difference between the Grievance and Redressal Cell and the

Grievance Committee. The composition of the two committees is same.

In that view of the matter, I do not see any justification to keep this contempt application pending. Accordingly, CPAN 1182 of 2022 is disposed of. Needless to mention that the petitioners will be at liberty to challenge the decision of the University in accordance with law.

Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
