Heard learned counsels for the parties.
The petitioner is a developer of properties. He is aggrieved by the fact that series of criminal complaints are being registered against him one after the other and he is being tagged in a fresh complaint immediately after being granted bail in connection with the earlier complaint. The petitioner prayed for anticipatory bail in connection with a complaint wherein he was sought to be shown as arrested. By an order passed on 29th October, 2025 in CRM (A) 3633 of 2025, a co ordinate Bench of this Court has adjourned the prayer for showing the petitioner as arrested in connection with the case before the learned Court till the next date of hearing. The interim protection has been extended till 20th November, 2025.
The prayer of the petitioner is two-fold:- First, a direction upon the State to furnish a list of cases pending against the petitioner. Second, direction upon the police authority not to take any coercive step against him in the event any further complaint is lodged.
The report submitted by the State demonstrates that 8 cases are pending against the petitioner at present. They are as follows:-
1. Bidhannagar North PS Case No. 176 dated 11.09.2014 under Section 379/411/120B of the IPC;
2. Bidhannagar South PS Case No. 123 of 2016 dated 28.07.2016 under Section 420/406/506/34/120B of the IPC;

dated 05.10.2019 under Section 170/171/417/419/420/465/466/467/468/469/472 /473/120B/34 of the IPC;

Bidhannagar North PS Case No.
dated 09.07.2021 under Section 341/506 of the IPC;
5. Bidhannagar East PS Case No. 89 of 2024 dated 08.08.2024 under Section 406/506 of the IPC;
6. Bidhannagar East PS Case No. 70 of 2025 dated 07.09.2025 under Section 316(2)/318(4) of the BNS;
7. Bidhannagar East PS Case No. 72 of 2025 dated 14.09.2025 under Section 338/340(2)/318(4) of the BNS;
8. Bidhannagar North PS Case No. 113 of 2025 dated 27.10.2025 under Section 338/340(2)/351 of the BNS. Learned counsel for the State submits, on instructions, that no other case is pending against the petitioner as on this date.
This Court is informed that the petitioner has been granted bail in 6 out of 8 cases. He has been granted interim protection by this Court in one of the cases and is in custody in the other case.
Since it is evident from the record that several complaints are being lodged against the petitioner from 2014 till date, the police is directed to take necessary preliminary steps in accordance with law in the event any other complaint is lodged against the petitioner before taking any coercive steps against him.
With the above directions and observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
