1. Mr. Susanta Kumar Mukherjee and Mr. Varun Raj Tewari learned advocates appeared before this Court on 6th January, 2026 on behalf of the State respondents. Their names were inadvertently not recorded in the order dated 6th January, 2026.

2. Be it recorded that Mr. Susanta Kumar Mukherjee and Mr. Varun Raj Tewari learned advocates appeared before this Court on 6th January, 2026 on behalf of the State respondents.

3. From the instruction forwarded by the District Inspector of Schools, Secondary Education, Paschim Bardhaman signed on 14th January, 2026 it appears that none of the heirs of the deceased clerk applied

for appointment on compassionate ground. The widow of the clerk is in extreme financial crisis and she seeks compassionate appointment.

4. The concerned District Inspector of Schools is directed to consider the application of the petitioner seeking compassionate appointment strictly in accordance with law at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

5. An opportunity of hearing shall be given to the petitioner for production of all relevant documents in support of her financial income.

6. The authority shall not insist the petitioner to produce the no objection certificate from her in-laws who are not at all interested to obtain appointment on compassionate ground as no application has been made by any of them.

7. If the claim of the petitioner is allowed, then necessary consequential steps shall be taken by the respondent authorities.

8. The writ petition stands disposed of.

9. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities. (Amrita Sinha, J.)
