The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction upon the concerned respondent to record the petitioner's name as a thika tenant in respect of the premises in question.

Undeniably, the dispute pertains to the petitioner's status as a thika tenant and requires adjudication by the Thika Controller in accordance with the provisions of the West Bengal Thika Tenancy Act.

Therefore, the petitioner has an efficacious alternative remedy. Furthermore, as the matter also involves disputed questions of fact, the present writ petition is not maintainable and, accordingly, cannot be entertained.

Consequently, the writ petition is dismissed.

There will be no order as to cost.
