The petitioner is a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956. The petitioner runs a factory at Mouza Hijalgora in the district of Paschim Bardhaman. Adjacent land to the factory of the petitioner is vested to the State and the said land is lying vacant. The petitioner made an application before the Additional District Magistrate and DL& LRO, Asansol in the district of Paschim Bardhaman on 9th April, 2021 and subsequently on 26th September,

2023 to the District Magistrate, Paschim Bardhaman requesting them to settle 18.88 acres of Government vested land spread in 10 plots at Mouza Hijalgora within J.L. No.40 on long term lease for expansion of factory. However, the said representations were not considered. The petitioner has approached this Court for a direction upon the District Magistrate and Collector, Paschim Bardhaman and the DL&LRO, Paschim Bardhaman to take a decision with regard to the representations mentioned above filed by the petitioner. The instant writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent Nos. 3 and 4 to dispose of the representations dated 9th April, 2021 and 26th September, 2023 in accordance with law within a period of 60 days from the date of communication of the order after giving an opportunity to the petitioner of hearing.

With the above direction, the instant writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Final decision taken by the above named respondents shall be communicated to the petitioner within seven days from the decision. (Bibek Chaudhuri, J.)
