And In Re: Salim Mondal ... ... Petitioner Mr. Pronojit Roy ... ... for the petitioner Mr. Saryati Datta ... ... for the State Petitioner renews his prayer for bail. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that there is slow progress in the matter inspite of direction given by this court.

Learned advocate appearing for the State opposes the prayer for bail.

We have considered the materials on record. There are ample materials showing complicity of the petitioner in the crime involving narcotic substance above commercial quantity. Trial has progressed considerably. Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

The application for bail is thus rejected.

We reiterate our earlier direction to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date.
