Video link could not be established with the socalled missing lady. However, we interacted with her through WhatsApp video call from phone number 98310 60578 of Mr. Sayan Ganguly, learned Advocate for the State. From Mr. Ganguly's phone we called 62035 34531, which is the phone number of the mother-in-law of Purnima Mondal, the so-called missing lady.

Purnima was identified by her father as well as uncle, namely, Prakash Mondal (present petitioner) and Sri Prasad Pal, respectively, who are present before us. The lady with whom we spoke also confirmed during the video call that she is Purnima Mondal and is residing in Punjab. Her husband's name is Narendra Singh. We could see her holding a baby in her arms.

Therefore, it cannot be said that Purnima Mondal is a missing person any more. The petitioner says that Purnima is regularly tortured by her Signed By :

husband and the other members of her husband's family. We should direct the husband's family to return Purnima to her paternal home. We are afraid that we cannot issue any such direction on this writ petition, the scope of which is limited. Since the missing lady has been traced out, the purpose of this writ petition stands achieved.

WPA (H) 84 of 2024 is, accordingly, disposed of. 5.

Needless to say, the petitioner will be at liberty to take recourse to such legal avenue as may be open to him for bringing back his daughter from her matrimonial home.
