The petitioner is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Raghunathpur College, District :Purulia.

The petitioner, on the ground of his illness, has applied in the prescribed form for transfer to a college at his home district Bankura.

The petitioner is alleging that his application for transfer is pending before the Director of Public Instruction, Education Directorate, Government of West Bengal, the respondent no.2 herein since August 08, 2019. Mr. Datta, learned Government Pleader submits that the respondent no.2 is yet to take a decision on the application, he further

submits that the said application may directed to be disposed of.

The respondent no.2 is obliged to dispose of the application of the petitioner for transfer within a reasonable time.

The said respondent, therefore, is requested to dispose of the said application in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of communication of this order positively.

Since no affidavit has been invited, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to have been denied by the respondents.

WPA 25664 of 2025 is disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs.

Urgent Photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
