Report filed on behalf of the State is also taken on record. Despite service, no one appears on behalf of the private respondents.

A copy of the recent FIR that had to be lodged due to further illegalities committed by the private respondents is also taken on record.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner was gifted the property in question by way of a Deed. But, the private respondents who are his brothers are disturbing the possession and enjoyment of such property by the petitioner. In fact, they had been intimidating and threatening the petitioner and his family members and even outraging the modesty of the petitioner's wife. Several complaints were made in this regard, but the police have taken no steps.

Learned senior standing counsel representing the State relies on the report and submits as follows. On three complaints lodged by the petitioner, FIRs were registered. In two of them, charge sheets have been submitted. There is a property dispute between the private respondents. However, the police are keeping a close watch on the developments in the locality. It appears that there is a dispute over a property between the private respondents. It also appears that the police have taken steps on the complaints made by the petitioner. Let the cases started by the petitioner be investigated expeditiously and in accordance with law and taken to their logical conclusion.

No further order need be passed in this regard. However, the police authorities shall keep a sharp vigil at the locale so that no breach of peace takes place. With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order may be supplied to the parties expeditiously, if applied for. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
