On prayer of the petitioner, liberty is granted to implead the State of West Bengal as opposite party no.2 in the application. The cause title of the application be amended accordingly. Since the petitioner seeks expeditious disposal of ACGR case no. 475 of 2020 pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 10th Court, Alipore, the matter may be taken up for consideration without service of notice upon the opposite parties. The opposite parties shall not be prejudiced by an order directing expeditious disposal of the case.

This Court is informed that charge sheet has been submitted in 2022. The first accused Pritam Raj has been absconding since then for which the case has not been proceeded with. In view of the above, the learned trial Court is directed to take necessary steps for securing the attendance of the 1st accused/ husband before him and take the proceeding to its logical conclusion as expeditious as possible, preferably within eighteen months from the next date of hearing fixed before him, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, in accordance with law.

CRR 4522 of 2024 is disposed of.
