Petitioner(s) Mr. Romit Dutta ... for the Petitioner(s) Ms. Shaila Afrin Mr. Tirupati Mukherjee ... for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody since June, 2025 and there has been no progress in the trial of the case. It is also submitted that charges have not been framed.

On the other hand, learned advocate for the State submits that the case is of 2013 and the petitioner has been evading the process of law and has been arrested pursuant to harsher process of law being executed.

Be that as it may, the petitioner is in custody for more than five months and there are injuries which are reflected in the medical report.

Having considered the nature of the case, steps be taken by the learned trial court for committing the case to the learned Court of Sessions at the earliest.

The learned Sessions Court would, after the stage of consideration of charges are over, release the petitioner on bail on such terms and conditions as the learned trial court and/or Sessions Court deems fit and proper.

With the aforesaid observations, CRM (M) 2365 of 2025 is disposed of.
