Mr. Sandipan Das Ms. Suparna Dutta ..for the petitioner Mr. Suman Basu ..for the Corporation It is the case of the petitioner that he was appointed as a "Welder" by Chandernagore Municipal Corporation on July 4, 2011. It is his grievance that he was terminated from his service with effect from March 5, 2022, without any valid reason.

The petitioner prays for his reinstatement in service.

Learned advocate appearing for the Corporation submits that a number of casual employees were discontinued due to their absence from service during the COVID-19 period. He, however, submits that some of such casual employees have been reinstated by the Corporation.

It appears that the petitioner has made a representation before the Commissioner,

Chandernagore Municipal Corporation for his reinstatement in service.

In view of the aforesaid facts, I dispose of this writ petition with a direction upon the Commissioner of Chandernagore Municipal Corporation to consider the prayer of reinstatement of the petitioner within a period of one month from the date of communication of this order.

Accordingly, WPA 25677 of 2022 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
