The petitioner filed the instant writ petition alleging unauthorized construction at the behest of the private respondents.

At the time of consideration of the writ petition learned advocate representing the petitioner submits that his client does not intend to proceed with the writ petition any further.

Written communication made by the petitioner to the learned advocate is retained with the records. The Court is of the opinion that the issue of unauthorized construction cannot be left undecided. The Board of Councillors, Naihati Municipality is directed to take steps against any unauthorized construction that may be detected.

The writ petition stands dismissed as 'not pressed'.
