Report filed on behalf of the State be taken on record. A copy of the FIR being Chakdaha Police Station Case No. 500 of 2022 dated 30.07.2022 is also taken on record.

Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The neighbours/private respondents of the petitioner attacked the petitioner in his house and inflicted injuries. Yet, no FIR was lodged. The incident happened in 2020. Since then no action has been taken by the police authorities. Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the private respondents denies the allegations made by the petitioner and submits that at the behest of the private respondents, an FIR being Chakdah Police Station Case No. 500 of 2022 dated 30.07.2022 was registered under Sections 448/325/326/307/354/34, IPC.

At this stage, learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner clarifies that the petitioner is not an accused in the said FIR.

Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the State relies on the report and submits that the police have taken an appropriate action in respect of the complaints lodged by the petitioner against the private respondents. In the petitioner's case Chakdah P.S. NCR P.R. No. 322/2020 was registered under Section 323 IPC. It pertains to a fight between neighbours. It appears that the police have taken appropriate action in respect of the allegations made by the petitioner and even the respondent authorities. Let the police authorities keep a sharp vigil at the locale and ensure that no breach of peace takes place.

The surveillance shall include visits by the police patrol.

No further orders need be passed in this regard. With these observations, the writ petition being WPA 24959 of 2023 is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for be given to the parties, upon compliance of necessary formalities.
