... Petitioner.
Mr. Jyoti Prakash Chatterjee.
...for the Petitioner.
Mr. Saibal Bapuli, ld. A.P.P., Mr. Bibasban Bhattacharyya.
...for the State.
Petitioner is in custody for 160 days. He submits he has been falsely implicated in the instant case. He prays for bail. Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail.
We have considered the materials on record. Statements of witnesses show petitioner was seen dragging the victim with a rope tied round with his neck. Victim died due to strangulation.
Under such circumstances and in view of the gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.
