The Superintendent of Police, Malda has filed an undated report and the same is taken on record. This Court is satisfied with the investigation being conducted in the matter. It appears from the report that as many as 17 raids have been conducted by the police from 22nd September, 2022 till date to trace out the accused persons. One Sariful Islam has been arrested and is in custody. The victim after initially being reluctant to give a statement under Section 164 of the Cr. P. C., has subsequently given the same and she has also undergone a medical examination.

Serious efforts shall be made to arrest the other accused persons.

Let investigation be completed as expeditiously as possible and final report be submitted before the Jurisdictional Magistrate within 45 days from date. It is also expected that the other accused are arrested in the meantime.

The writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
