The petitioner was found unfit by the DME and RME to recruitment for the post of Constable (GD) in the CAPFs, 2022 on the ground that there was a visible tattoo in the right arm.

Mr. Chatterjee submits that his client shall undergo a procedure to remove the tattoo. It is now well-settled that a visible Tattoo, in the saluting arm, is itself a disqualification. Any subsequent removal of the same will not revive any claim in the instant process for recruitment.

However, the petitioner may participate in any future recruitment process if he is eligible in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition shall stand disposed of without any order.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
