The petitioner claiming to be a widow of one Bidyadhar Mahato, a deceased Assistant Teacher at Srirampur Primary School under Joypur Circle of DPSC, Purulia has applied for family pension. Her representation to the said effect is pending consideration before the District Inspector of Schools (PE), Purulia, the respondent no.3 herein.

Mr. Chowdhury, learned advocate for the State on instruction submits that the deceased teacher had two wives; the petitioner is one of them; besides, the concerned teacher had died way back in the year 1980, these are relevant issues to be considered to decide the entitlement of the petitioner to get family pension. Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the second wife of the deceased teacher has already died. Be that as it may, the representation of the petitioner dated May 4, 2011 which forms part of the writ petition being Annexure-P/4 since is pending consideration for a pretty long time, the respondent no.3 is directed to consider the same in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible.

WPA 25079 of 2023 is thus disposed of without any order as to costs.

No affidavit since has been invited, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to have been denied by the respondents.
