We have considered the materials on record. Conviction of the petitioner was confirmed in CRA 676 of 2011. Petitioner has other criminal antecedents.

In view of the aforesaid circumstances and the gravity of the offence, though the petitioner has suffered detention for a considerable period of time, we are not inclined to grant bail to him at this stage.

The application for bail is, thus, rejected. Trial court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same as expeditiously as possible preferably within one year from the next date fixed for recording evidence without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
