The petitioner is a villager and resides within the Jukhia Gram Panchayat. Being aggrieved by the allotment of seats for the upcoming panchayat election, the petitioner approached the District Magistrate, Purba Medinipur, that is the District Panchayat Election Officer by filing a complaint. It is alleged that by a notice dated November 4, 2022, the petitioner was directed to appear at a hearing on November 10, 2022. Although the hearing was completed, it is alleged that the authority is yet to intimate his decision. The writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the District Magistrate, Purba Medinipur, i.e., the respondent no.2, to inform the petitioner about the result of the hearing held on November 10, 2022 at 12.30 p.m. Such information shall reach the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order. This Court has not gone into the allegations made by the petitioner. It is expected that the decision shall be taken

strictly in accordance with law and on the basis of the contentions of the petitioner. The relevant documents submitted by the petitioner in support of his contentions, shall be also dealt with.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. However, there will be no order as to costs.

All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
