Writ petition is heard in presence of the learned advocates representing the petitioner and the West Bengal Central School Service Commission.

Petitioner being an assistant teacher in a Government aided secondary school has prayed for transfer on the ground of distance. Notice of this Court has been drawn to a document which is at page 19 of this writ petition and placing reliance on the said document it has been submitted that the application was made for transfer on 4th May, 2022 and on 13th July, 2022 the concerned District Inspector of Schools forwarded the transfer application to the concerned authority of the West Bengal Central School Service Commission for taking decision. Commission is represented by learned advocate who submits that in the event the Chairman is directed decision

to be taken on transfer application of the petitioner in accordance with law.

Having considered the submissions made on behalf of the parties and taking note of the document at page 19 of the writ petition, the writ petition stands disposed of directing the Chairman, West Bengal Central School Service Commission being respondent no. 3 to take decision on the transfer application of the petitioner by 4 (four) weeks from the date of communication of this order and the same shall be communicated to the petitioner within 1 (one) week thereafter.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
