Case No.297 of 2025 dated 04.08.2025 under Sections 115(2)/118(2)/126(2)/352 of the BNS, 2023. And In the matter of:

Sandip Laga alias Sanjay ... petitioner Mr. Amitava Chowdhury Mr. Debasis Sur Mr. Dilip Kumar Das ... for the petitioner Mr. Pravas Bhattacharyya Mr. Abhinaba Mukherjee ... for the State Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in exercise to right of private defence, the petitioner had to inflict an injury on the victim. However, the petitioner's wife was also injured in trying to save the petitioner in the midst of altercation. There are case and counter case. Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail, relies on the case diary including the statements of the victim and other witnesses and the injury report and submits that the petitioner had bitten off the tip of a finger of the victim.

Considering the above and the other materials available in the case diary, I do not think this to be a fit case for granting anticipatory bail.

The application for anticipatory bail is, thus, rejected.
