The writ petitioner appellant participated in the selection process for recruitment of Constable GD in CRPF. As against the requisite height of 170 cms., he was found to be 169.7 cm. He claimed the benefit of rounding off of this measurement to the next higher cm. (170cm.). The recruitment rules provide an appellate remedy, but to be availed on the same day on which the height measurement is taken.

The Hon'ble Single Judge by the order under appeal allowed leave to the writ petitioner to prefer an appeal to the appellate authority by 3 days from the date of the order passed in the writ proceedings, i.e. within 3 days from 10.11.2025. 3.

When the matter was taken up yesterday we asked the learned Advocate for the Union of India to obtain instructions regarding the stage of the recruitment process. We are informed that the

recruitment process is at the stage of detailed medical examination, which is on-going.

The learned counsel for the appellant submits that the appellant would be satisfied if he is allowed an opportunity to avail a three days' time for invoking the appellate remedy.

In view of the such submissions and considering the stage of the recruitment process; as also the fact that the Government of India has not preferred any appeal against the order of the learned Single Judge allowing three days' time for invoking the appellate provision, we dispose of the intra court appeal extending the three days' time for availing the benefit of the order passed in W.P.A. 24864 of 2025.

The liberty has to be availed by 28.11.2025.
