The petitioner was engaged to act as Supervisor/Paymaster of Natshal Gram Panchayet for a scheme called "Re-excavation of Banipota Khal" by the Mahishadal Panchayet Samity, Midnapore on 18.01.2000.

He subsequently acted as Block Level Trainer for training of the Gram Unnayan Samity Members at the instance of the S. D. O., Haldia under the NREGA Cell.

In course of a communication issued by Natshal I Gram Panchayet addressed to the B.

D. O., Mahishadal, he was described as a temporary employee.

The petitioner claims that he has been disengaged by the Gram Panchayet by

communication dated 6th July, 2018.

He submits that the private respondent has been engaged in his place. He challenges the disengagement order dated 6th July, 2018, inter alia, on the ground that there was no proceeding initiated against him. He also submits that he was not called upon to explain any conduct.

This Court notes that the petitioner has worked as a temporary, casual or contractual employee that was attached to a particular category of work. The respondents are not obliged to follow any procedure in terminating any casual, contractual or scheme bound person.

For the reasons stated herein above, the writ petition must fail and is dismissed.

No order as to cost.
