Rakshit ... for the Petitioner(s) Mr. Ranadeb Sengupta Mr. Dipankar Mahata ... for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for two-year- two months and 44 kgs of ganja were recovered from a vehicle which belongs to the petitioner's father. The petitioner claims innocence and submits that present detention is causing hardship to the petitioner and his family members.

Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that there are materials against the present petitioner.

Be that as it may, learned advocate for the State submit that seven witnesses are proposed to be examined by the prosecution.

Having regard to such submissions advanced by the State, I direct that State would take steps for completion of evidence of the witnesses within a period of three months from the next date so fixed by the learned trial court. In case, witnesses are not completed within the aforesaid period, the learned trial court would leniently consider the prayer for bail of the petitioner. No unnecessary adjournment be granted to any of the parties and the trial of the case would proceed inspite of any resolution of the local Bar.

With the aforesaid observations, CRM (NDPS) 1466 of 2025 is disposed of.
