1. The petitioner in the instant case is an intending operator in respect of operating new stage carriage buses on the route 201 (Salt Lake to Nimta Tatkal). The petitioners' applications for issuance of new stage carriage permits on the said route against vacancies as per the decision of the RTA, North 24-Parganas, subsequently sent for recommendation to the RTA, Kolkata since major portions are lying in arrears beyond RTA, North 24-Parganas.

2. The petitioner submits that the resolution dated 29.08.2025 has been taken by the RTA Board and took a decision for seeking report regarding the vacancy of the route alignment from RTA, North 24-Parganas and thereafter, to publish notice widely regarding notified application in the route 201.

3. Main grievance of the petitioner is that despite decision vide Memo No. 3051/MV/Bst taken by the Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, North 24-Parganas for route 201 the petitioner has not been favoured by the new stage carriage permit for the route 201.

4. The State respondent fairly submits that already the authority has taken a decision but not yet notified.

After careful consideration of the case and perusing the materials on record I am of the considered view that the RTA Board being the respondent no. 2 shall notify the declared vacancies created as per Memo No. 3051/MV/Bst dated 29.07.2025 within six weeks from the date of the communication of the order in terms of the resolution dated 29.8.2025 since public at large are suffering immensely due to lesser number of vehicles plying in the route 201.

6. Accordingly, the writ petition being WPA 26127 of 2025 stands disposed of without taking exception without merit of the case.
