Mr. Pradip Kumar Roy, Mr. Joydeep Roy, Mr. Tirthajit Roy Chowdhury ...for the Petitioner Mr. Victor Chatterjee ...for the Contemnor This contempt application has been taken out for the 20-09-2024 AKG Ct. 15 alleged violation of the order dated September 12, 2022 passed in this writ petition. It appears that an appeal was preferred against the said order before a Division Bench of this Court, and the Division Bench by an order dated September 19, 2023, directed the university to deposit the entire amount within two weeks as directed to be paid in terms of the judgment and order dated September 12, 2022.

The Division Bench further directed that upon deposit of such amount, the operation of the order dated September 12, 2022 shall remain stayed till the disposal of the appeal.

Today, it has been submitted by the university that in terms of the order dated September 19, 2023, of the Division Bench, the university deposited a cheque of little

over Rs. 10 lakh.

Mr. Roy, learned advocate appearing for the applicant alleges that the university has not calculated the amount due to the petitioner properly.

I am of the view that the petitioner should agitate such an issue before the Division Bench that passed the order dated September 19, 2023.

I find no justification to keep this contempt application pending.

Accordingly, CPAN 1277 of 2022 is disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
