Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner is directed to serve a copy of this revisional application upon Ms. Baisali Basu, learned advocate, who ordinarily appears for the State. Her appointment may be regularised by the concerned authorities.

In view of the long delay in disposal of the present case, I direct the learned Metropolitan Magistrate, 6th Court, Calcutta to take steps so that proceedings arising out of New Market Police Station Case No. 281 of 2016 (G.R. Case No. 1427 of 2016) be taken to its logical conclusion at the earliest.

It has been informed that next date has been fixed on 07.12.2023. Learned advocate for the State would inform her counterpart to try to conduct the hearing of the charges on the next date so fixed. The process relating to consideration of charges must be completed by 31.12.2023. In case after consideration of charges, the learned Magistrate is of the opinion that trial of the case should continue, in that case the learned Magistrate would fix one date in every 20 days so that trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion.

Records reflect that there are three witnesses in this case. The examination of three witnesses may be completed by 15.04.2024. The learned trial court within two months thereafter would pronounce the judgement so far as the New Market Police Station Case No. 281 of 2016.

With the aforesaid observations, the revisional application being CRR 4337 of 2023 is disposed of. Pending connected application, if any, is consequently disposed of.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
