Learned advocate also submits that the petitioner is in custody for two years three months and twenty seven days.

Learned advocate for the State, on the other hand, submits a report wherein it reflects that the prosecution has examined all the witnesses and, presently, next date is fixed for examination of the investigating officer of the case. Let such report be kept with the record.

It is further submitted that date has been fixed on 06.02.2026.

Having considered the stage of the case, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail at this stage. Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected.

However, the trial court is directed to conclude the examination of the investigating officer preferably by 6th March, 2026. All efforts be taken to pronounce the verdict by 15th April, 2026..

In case, the process as directed above is not complied with, the petitioner would be at liberty to renew his prayer for bail before this court.

Accordingly, CRM(NDPS) 1471 of 2025 is dismissed. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
