Sr. St. Counsel, Mr. Suddhadev Adak ...for the State The Commissioner of Police, Asansol-Durgapur has filed a report enclosing findings of enquiry of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Asansol-Durgapur, addressed to the learned State Advocate, dated 15.11.2022. The same is taken on record.

It appears from the report that the office of the Commissioner of Police that the injuries caused to the petitioner by Mr. Rajendu Jash, ASI Asansol (North) P.S., were not intentional. He may have gotten carried away in course of interrogation of his father. It is further communicated that a punishment of "censure" has been imposed on the concerned officer after being called by the DCP (Central) ADPC to the Orderly Room-Part - I.

In those circumstances, this Court notes that sufficient steps have been taken against the officer. He has also been transferred.

The petitioner may apply for appropriate compensation in terms of the guidelines of the Hon'ble Supreme Court and those framed by the State for injuries obtained, if so entitled in law. With the aforesaid observations, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
