The petitioner prays for fixation of pay after taking into consideration ROPA 1998.

It has been submitted that the petitioner is entitled to two additional increments in terms of the Memorandum of the School Education Department, Budget Branch, Government of West Bengal being No.185-SE(B)/1M-119/99 dated 4th May 2000.

It is submitted that the prayer for fixation of pay was forwarded by the school to the Additional District Inspector of Schools (SE), Paschim Medinipur in June 2025. There is no response to the same till date.

Learned counsel for the State is not ready with proper instructions.

In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the Additional District Inspector of Schools (SE), Contai Sub-Division, the fourth respondent herein, to take a decision on the prayer of the petitioner seeking fixation of pay in terms of ROPA 1998 at the earliest but positively

within a period of twelve weeks from the date of communication of this order.

If the prayer of the petitioner is allowed, then necessary consequential steps shall be taken forthwith.

All parties are to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Certified copy of this order, if applied for, shall be made available to the parties.
