It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner he is in custody for over six months. Co-accused have been enlarged on bail. Accordingly, he prays for bail.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits petitioner caused acid burn injuries on the victim's face. 3.

We have considered the materials on record. Statements of witnesses as well as the injury report shows petitioner threw acid on the victim resulting in injuries on her face. He does not stand on the same footing with co-accused who have been enlarged on bail. Under such circumstances and in view of gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage. 4.

The application for bail is thus rejected.
