The petitioner participated in the 1st SLST, 2016 for appointment in the post of Assistant Teacher (Geography) under general category.

The grievance of the petitioner is that though he is eligible but was not called for Verification/Personality Test. Admittedly, the petitioner has obtained the Training Qualification after the closing date (October 03, 2016) for uploading the Online Application for such appointment.

In view of the restriction contemplated under the third proviso appended to Rule 4 of the West Bengal School Service Commission (Selection for Appointment to the Posts of Teachers for Upper Primary Level of Schools) Rules, 2016, the petitioner is not eligible for the post which he is aspiring. The Commission, therefore, has not committed any illegality by not allowing the petitioner to participate in the Personality Test.

The writ petition being WPA No. 26356 of 2022 fails and is dismissed without any order as to costs.
