The contents of the report with regard to the fact that the private respondents are no longer residing in the same house is disputed by the petitioners.

The petitioners who are the helpless parents of the 6th respondent are allegedly suffering immense torture, both physical and mental, in the hands of the private respondents who are residing in the same house. The house admittedly belongs to the petitioners.

In view of the above, the petitioners are at liberty to approach the relevant tribunal constituted under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 for redressal of their grievance. It is expected that the learned tribunal shall dealt with the allegations as expeditiously as the business of the tribunal would permit. In the meantime, the local police authority shall keep strict vigil in the area and shall render necessary assistance/protection to the petitioners as and when

sought. The police authority shall ensure that no torture is meted out upon the petitioners at the instance of the private respondents.

The writ petition is disposed of.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted.

Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
