Mr. Mukteswar Maity, learned counsel appears for the petitioners.

Mr. Supratim Dhar, learned counsel appears for the respondent nos.1 to 7.

The rest of the respondents are not represented. Pursuant to the direction made by this Court on November 26, 2024 the respondent no.5, Sri Arabinda Dey is personally present in Court today and has rendered sufficient assistance to the Court on the issue. His further presence stands dispensed with until further direction.

On instruction from his client learned senior counsel Mr. Supratim Dhar appearing for the State respondents submits that, sufficient progress has been

made to process the Direct Purchase policy on the subject land and the procedure which are left shall be carried out and completed within twelve weeks from date which shall include payment of compensation to the land losers.

Learned senior counsel appearing for the State has filed a report dated December 11, 2024, issued under the signature of the respondent no.5, the same is taken on record. The report with the appended documents therewith also supports the contention of the learned State counsel.

In view of the above, the respondent nos. 2 and 3 are directed to complete the entire process of Direct Purchase policy and pay the compensation in accordance with law to the petitioners and/or the other land losers of the relevant land, if any, after verifying the records positively within a period of twelve weeks from the date of communication of this order.

Since affidavits are not called for, the allegations made in this writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted by the respondents.

With the above observations and directions, this writ petition, WPA 25563 of 2023 stands disposed of, without any order as to costs.
