Mr.
Banerjee submits a compliance report/status report showing the compliance on the part of the alleged contemnors with regard to the direction of this Court. The same is taken on record. Copy has been handed over to Mr. Maity today in Court. Mr. Banerjee submits that, the alleged contemnors have already calculated the amount payable to the petitioners on account of Direct Purchase Policy of the subject land and have
forwarded the same to the appropriate authority of the Public Works Department being the requiring body whose responsibility is to release the fund and then the alleged contemnors shall pay the petitioners. In view of the above, the petitioners shall be at liberty to implead the appropriate authority of the Public Works Department in this contempt proceeding by incorporating its name and designation in the cause title of the original contempt application by putting the signature of the learned advocate on record for the petitioners.
The petitioners shall serve the amended contempt application upon the impleaded alleged contemnor and file an affidavit of service on the next day. The petitioners shall also serve copy of the orders passed in the writ petition and the orders in this contempt application upon the newly impleaded alleged contemnor.
The matter shall appear under the heading "Contempt Application" on June 26, 2026.
