Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that, the petitioner is in custody for 3 years and 4 months. He points out that out of 21 prosecution witnesses, only 4 were examined. He also points out that the victim alleged to be kidnapped deposed at the trial.

Learned advocate appearing for the State draws the attention of the Court to the materials in the case diary. Petitioner stands implicated in kidnapping and making a demand for ransom.

Trial is ongoing. The victim who is a minor of 7 years identified the petitioner before us as the driver of the vehicle when the abduction was conducted amongst others. Considering the complicity of the petitioner in the crime in which the petitioner stands implicated the gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner and the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. The application being C.R.M. (DB) 3727 of 2024 stands dismissed.
