Affidavit of service filed today be kept on record.

The writ petitioners approached the concerned District Land and Land Reforms Officer (D.L & L.R.O.) for correction of Records of Rights in terms of a civil court's decree.

The D.L. & L.R.O. referred the matter to the concerned Block Land and Land Reforms Officer (B.L & L.R.O.). The matter having been kept pending before the B.L & L.R.O., the petitioners approached the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal for a direction of early disposal of the matter before the B.L & L.R.O. However, the said original application has been postponed by the Tribunal by its impugned order dated September 23, 2025 to August 11, 2026, which is about one year thereafter.

Upon hearing learned counsel for the parties, we are of the opinion that instead of relegating the petitioners to the Tribunal, OA 2458 of 2025 (LRTT), pending before the Fourth Bench of the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal, ought to be disposed of.

Accordingly, WPLRT 192 of 2025 is disposed of by disposing of the aforementioned OA and by directing the concerned B.L & L.R.O., i.e. the respondent no. 4, to dispose of the matter pending before him/her as indicated above as expeditiously as possible, positively within three months from the date of communication of this order to the respondent no. 4. For the purpose of compliance, the respondent no. 4 shall act on a server copy of this order without insisting upon prior production of a certified copy.

There will be no order as to costs.

The parties shall also act on the server copy of this order, duly downloaded from the official website of this court.
