Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the petitioner retired on superannuation on 31st December, 2004 but the pension was sanctioned in favour of the petitioner in terms of the order dated 16th October, 2023 passed by a coordinate Bench on a writ petition being WPA 18412 of 2017. Now petitioner prays for grant of interest on arrear pension due to delay in releasing the same after petitioner's retirement on 31st December, 2004.

In spite of service of notice no one is representing the State respondents today.

Having considered the submissions made on behalf of the petitioner the writ petition is disposed of granting leave to the petitioner to make a representation to the Director of Pension Provident Fund and Group Insurance being

respondent no.2 claiming interest on arrear pension due to delay in releasing the same by fortnight from date.

If representation is made within the aforesaid time the respondent no.2 shall decided the same by eight weeks thereafter after granting opportunity of hearing to the petitioner or his representative and a reasoned order shall be passed and to be communicated to the petitioner by two weeks thereafter.

However, there shall be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
