The petitioners assert that they have been appointed as guards by Chanduria-I Gram Panchayat, District-Nadia, on a daily wage basis at the Chanduria Water Supply Project. Through this writ petition, the petitioners seek the benefits of a circular dated July 15, 2019, issued by the Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, Government of West Bengal, appearing at page 29 of the writ petition.

The petitioners contend that they have been in continuous service for over 25 years, earning a daily wage of Rs. 410.

It appears that by a letter dated November 10, 2022, the Executive Engineer of the Nadia Arsenic Division, Public Health and Engineering Department of the State, requested the Superintending Engineer of

the Eastern Circle to consider the petitioners' prayer for the implementation of the aforementioned memo dated July 15, 2019.

The learned advocate for the petitioners submits that no subsequent action has been taken by the Superintending Engineer, Eastern Circle, respondent No. 4.

In light of these circumstances, I dispose of this writ petition with a directive to the Superintending Engineer, Eastern Circle, Public Health Engineer Directorate, respondent No. 4, to take follow-up action in terms of the letter dated November 10, 2022, issued by the Executive Engineer, Nadia, within a period of two months from the date of communication of this order.

Accordingly, WPA 25636 of 2023 is disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties on compliance of usual legal formalities.
