The petitioner participated in the 2nd SLST, 2025. Prior to filling in his application form, he applied for a certificate under the economically weaker section (EWS) category. The said certificate was issued to him on September 10, 2025.

Grievance of the petitioner is that despite opportunity by the Commission to update the details of the candidates in the concerned portal, such portal did not provide any option for updating the EWS category of the candidate.

It has been submitted that the petitioner is an extremely meritorious candidate of Physics and he should be permitted to avail the benefit of reservation.

Submission made by the petitioner is opposed by the learned counsel representing the Commission. 5.

It appears that the result of the written examination and the interview list has already

been published by the Commission. The petitioner, for any reason whatsoever, was unable to upload his reservation certificate within the stipulated time period. Had the petitioner approached the Court at the very first instance when he was unable to upload the document, the prayer of the petitioner could have been considered.

At this stage, allowing the prayer of the petitioner for updating his reservation certificate may amount to unsettling the interview list prepared by the Commission. It has to be kept in mind that the selection process is being conducted by the Commission in compliance of the direction passed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court and a deadline has been prescribed for finalization of the same. 7.

In view thereof, the prayer of the petitioner cannot be allowed.

The writ petition fails and stands dismissed. 9.
