Learned advocate also submits that the petitioner is in custody for eight months as there is no progress in the trial of the case, as such, the petitioner may be released on bail.

Learned advocate for the State, on the other hand, opposes the prayer for bail and submits that the petitioner was found in possession of commercial quantity of contraband.

I have considered the materials in the case diary and I am of the view that the petitioner is unable to overcome

the rigours of Section 37 of the NDPS Act, as such, his custodial detention is warranted.

Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected.

Accordingly, CRM(NDPS) 1485 of 2025 is dismissed. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
