Learned counsel for the petitioners submit that after getting a copy of the contempt application, the alleged contemnor grew wiser and gave a notice for hearing to the petitioner, although beyond the time as fixed by the original order of this court. 3.

Since punishment for contempt is an extreme measure, in view of the alleged contemnor having given a date of hearing to the petitioner, thereby showing his intention to carry out the order of this court, albeit belated, I do not find that any deliberate and willful violation of the order has happened as yet.

Yet, till the final decision on the representation is taken, it cannot be said that the order has been carried out in its entirety.

Hence, the matter is adjourned till February 23, 2024 for passing further orders.
