W.P.A. 27773 of 2017 (Bimal Kumar Pradhan vs. State of West Bengal & Ors.) Mr. Vivekananda Bose Mr. Avik Ghatak .... For the Petitioner Mr. Lalit Mohan Mahata .... For the State The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the utilisation of the petitioner's land by the State Authorities without initiation of any acquisition proceedings and also nonpayment of any compensation to the petitioner. Mr. Mahata appearing on behalf of the State submits that appropriate steps will be taken by the State Authorities in acquiring the petitioner's premises and paying compensation to the petitioner within a period of six months from date. He further submits that if necessary, the State authorities will purchase the land of the petitioner directly from the petitioner. In view of the submissions made on behalf of the State respondents, nothing survives in this writ petition.

W.P.A. 27773 of 2017 is disposed of by directing the State authorities to act in accordance with law. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of requisite formalities. (Ravi Krishan Kapur, J.)
