The present case being Raidighi Police Station Case No.48 of 1994 is pending for more than 29 years. A report was called for and, accordingly, the Superintendent of Police, Sundarban Police District has submitted a report. The report reflects that the next date has been fixed on 8th March, 2024 for appearance and death report. So far as the death report is concerned, the Inspectorin-Charge/Officer-in-Charge of Raidighi Police Station will submit the death report on 8th March, 2024. It is also reflected from the report that all the 12 accused are available before the court. Accordingly, I direct that the learned trial court will conduct the trial of the case by fixing at least three dates in a week.
The Superintendent of Police would engage the Inspector-in-Charge of Raidighi Police Station as Nodal Officer of the case who will take efforts for production of the witnesses on summons being issued by the court. None of the accused persons for the next three months would leave the jurisdiction of Raidighi Police Station without the permission of the Inspector-in-Charge, Raidighi Police Station.

So far as the prayers for quashing in respect of the Raidighi Police Station is concerned, the same is refused as the records reflect that the present petitioners contributed to the delay. Report so submitted by Mr. Hossain, learned advocate appearing for the State be kept with the record. Accordingly, CRR 4405 of 2023 is disposed of. Pending connected applications, if any, are consequently disposed of.
