1. Petitioner prays for bail.

2. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody in excess of 2 years 4 months. He submits that trial is unlikely to commence any time soon in view of the non-production of prosecution witnesses.

3. State is represented.

4. Petitioner stands implicated in a crime of murder. Out of 26 prosecution witnesses 6 were examined.

5. Considering the gravity of the offence, involvement of the petitioner therein as also the period of custody and the fact that trial is in progress, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

6. Prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

7. CRM (DB) 3761 of 2024 is dismissed.
