Present petition has been filed for expeditious disposal of proceeding in connections with G.R. Case No.342/2020 arising out of Uttarpara P.S. Case No.78 of 2020 under Sections 498A/406 of the IPC pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 2nd Court at Serampore, Hooghly.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the charge-sheet was filed on September, 2020 and the charges were framed in 28th December, 2021, however, in the five years not even a single witness have been examined. 3.

The court considers that no prejudice shall be caused if an appropriate direction is issued for expeditious disposal. The speedy and fair trial is the matter of right for the accused as well as the complainant.

In the circumstances, CRR 5018 of 2025 is disposed of with a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate, 2nd Court at Serampore, Hooghly for expeditious trial of G.R.

Case No.342/2020 arising out of Uttarpara P.S. Case No.78 of 2020

under Sections 498A/406 of the IPC expeditiously in accordance with the law without granting any unnecessary adjournments. 5.
