It is the grievance of the petitioners that though admit cards were issued in their favour by the respondent University for appearing in the examination for the post of "Darwan" and they appeared in the examination, till date the result has not been declared. Mr. Majumder, learned advocate appearing for the University, submits that the examination was entrusted to an agency which ultimately failed to conduct the same properly. As a result, the University has scrapped the entire selection process. He further submits that when a de novo selection process will be initiated, the petitioners will be given an opportunity to participate again in the examination without further application fees. It has also been submitted that the candidates who had already applied for the post, will be allowed to participate in the selection process, condoning age bar, if they have become age barred in the meantime. In view of the submissions made on behalf of the University, no useful purpose will be served in keeping the writ petition pending. The University could

terminate the selection process before the publication of the merit list for any valid reason. I am satisfied with the reasons as urged by Mr. Majumder in this case. With the aforesaid observations, WPA 26611 of 2022 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
