The writ petition is taken up for final consideration in presence of the learned advocates representing the petitioner and Howrah Municipal Corporation.

During course of hearing Mr. Banerjee learned advocate representing Howrah Municipal Corporation has filed a report in the form of an affidavit affirmed on 11th October, 2023 which is taken on record.

On perusal of the said report it appears that the grievance which has been ventilated by presenting the writ petition stands redressed. In view of the averments made in paragraphs 3,4,5,6,7 and 8 of the said report it further appears that the said report is in connection with the premises No.47+48, Raj Narayan Roy Chowdhury Ghat Road, under ward no. 36. The annual

valuation of Rs. 3,13,000/- has not only been restored but subsequently on separating the holding on 10th March, 2021 the annual valuation was reduced to Rs. 2,38,858/-.

In view of the statements made in the aforesaid paragraphs of the report nothing remains to be decided in the present writ petition.

Accordingly, the said writ petition stands disposed of.

However, it is made clear that in future, if steps are taken by the concerned authority of Howrah Municipal Corporation relating to fixation of annual valuation of the premises in question which is unreasonable, the petitioner shall be at liberty to take steps in accordance with law. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
