Petitioner is in custody for one year and eight months. He submits he has been falsely implicated in the instant case. He prays for bail.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail. He submits petitioner is a member of the police force and in collusion with one of his colleagues namely Subrata Biswas he aided and abetted trafficking in narcotics. A large volume of cash was detected in the account of the petitioner. Bail prayer of co-accused viz., Subrata Biswas has been turned down by this Court.

We have considered the materials on record. There are ample materials to show implication of the petitioner in trafficking narcotics. Money trail has been traced to the petitioner. Bail prayer of co-accused viz., Subrata Biswas was

turned down by this Court. Date has been fixed for recording prosecution evidence.

Under such circumstances and in view of statutory restrictions under Section 37 of the NDPS Act, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

Trial court is requested to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date without granting unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties.
